FEM-inspired Creatives

In the spirit of celebrating all things womanly this week, here is a round up of some awesome lady artists who share a mission of creating art inspired by all things feminine.

I recently discovered Designs by Duvet Days, and am a HUGE fan of the concept, mission and ethos. Founded by Jenna Wiebe, Duvet Days is an organisation that provides support to women affected by rape and domestic abuse. Through her artwork - a fusion of beautiful illustrations and anatomy education - Jenna is raising awareness on women’s health issues, promoting self love and celebrating diversity. If you are looking to invest in some beautiful artwork with a cause - this is a great place to shop!

Broken Isn't Bad Artwork

I have been following this Croatia-based artist for quite some time, and even have a print of hers on my bookshelf!

Her minimal black and white illustrations are inspired by monochromatic tattoo art. Although not exclusively female, her work demonstrates a sense of vulnerability and intimacy that is innately feminine in spirit. The strength felt through her bold pieces which promote the celebration of imperfections - “we all are a little broken, after all. And that’s totally ok. Broken isn't bad.”

Pot Yer Tits Away Artwork

Emma quit her job to pursue her love of pottery (with literally no experience of working with clay apart from a 10 week night course.) She is now the creator behind the incredibly successful , Pot Yer Tits Away Luv - producing custom “tit” pots, to celebrate real bodies and support body neutrality.

Hailing from my home town of Adelaide, I’ve been a lover of Naomi Murrell’s artwork for years. Ranging from graphic art, jewellery and apparel, all her work evokes feelings of elegance, beauty and femininity. I also love that she is all about sustainability - creating in small batches and limited editions, using organic and natural fibres and ethical manufacturing partners, in Australia and Bali... “Beautiful things take time & energy to bring to life, and we’re doing our best to do so with integrity“. Word.
