Hi, I’m Alana Ward. Australian graphic designer, digital illustrator, and the creative lady behind this business.
A bit of background to my creative business
My design journey began in South Australia, in advertising. I then spent a decade living in Hong Kong, where I gained international design experience through a range of in-house and agency roles, before going out on my own, and launching Concrete Creative in 2017.
I’ve since had the pleasure of working with businesses big and small. Now based in Cairns, Far North Queensland, I help clients across Australia, Hong Kong and Europe, grow their businesses through brand design.
Over time, Concrete Creative has evolved to include three distinct creative offerings:
🌈 Digital Illustration by Alana Ward
In 2020, burnt out from client work and in need of my own creative outlet, I started to explore the world of illustration. In 2022 I won the Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition with my illustration, “Fleurs de Fringe”. Since then, I’ve continued to illustrate for a range of commercial clients across Australia. My vector-based artwork use simple shapes, bold colours and core design principles, to create fun, nostalgic and playful visuals. You can learn more about my illustration work here.
