Q3 Creations

Summer (for my Northern Hemisphere clients) is always a quieter time in the Studio. It’s a great opportunity to wrap up final elements for brands who started development in the first part of the year. Bigger businesses also tend to use this down time to gather final decisions needed to complete larger scale projects that we’ve been working on for many months. This Summer was no different. The studio proudly witnessed 2 new brands launch, and wrapped up a beast of a sustainability with Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

The Studio itself also capitalised on a bit of down time, launching this website (after 2 years of procrastination!)

I, (Lanz, the one woman band behind this Studio) was also able to prioritise a bit of a “passion project”, entering the Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition - and successfully made it into the Top 40! The final winner will be announced in October… fingers crossed!

SFH Breathwork Brand Launch

SFH Breathwork specialises in helping individuals, teams, and corporates to improve their performance, health and general wellbeing through breathwork training. As a new brand, in a relatively new speciality area, branding plays a big role in communicating the business and service offering provided by SFH Breathwork.

Working with Founder, Harsha, we established a unique position in the marketplace for SFH Breathwork, and developed an identity to visually portrayed the challenging yet approachable, strong yet supportive, and dynamic yet intentional, essence of the brand.

Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition

illustration + Poster design | South Australia

I actually entered the world of design with no artistic background. A few years ago I set up @projectplay.co as a playground to explore other creative outlets - beyond client work. I was drawn to vector illustration, filled with bright colours and bold styles - the polar opposite to my designer day job aesthetic.

It’s often challenging to prioritise creative experiments and personal projects around other client work (even though I know the creative play process improves the quality of my day job work!) Luckily, over the summer down-time I was able to experiment with some brightly coloured pixels for the Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition. As a self taught illustrator, I was surprised, amazed and proud to discover my entry made it into the Top 40!

It’s a bold, bright design, comprised primarily of simple vector shapes - which is the illustrative style I’ve developed / fallen into. I was able to incorporate a little touch of surrealism which I’ve been wanting to explore, along with the rainbow flowers which I always enjoy including in my illustrations.

The wining entry will be announced in October (fingers crossed!)
